Term Paper IIII

                                                          The Realness about Journalists

All around the world, we have journalists to report back gathered information to huge data bases. They are known for receiving certain information from individuals for the press. It is all about who can create the best story and report the most confidential news to the world. Journalists in other countries have the same methods as us Americans but it alters as well.

Firstly, Journalists in Ukraine essentially have the right to information, freedom of expression and criticism. They are to respect the truth whatever be the consequence to himself/herself, because of the right of the public to know the truth. They must report on facts of which he knows the origin; not to suppress essential information nor alter texts and documents. They must restrict themselves to respect a person's privacy. Journalists claim free access to all information sources and have the right to freely inquire on all events conditioning public life.

A journalist cannot be compelled to perform a professional act or to express an opinion contrary to his convictions or his conscience. A Ukrainian, Yevgeny Agarkov, who works for channel 2+2, was convicted of working as an illegal journalist in Voronezh, in Southwestern Russia. Mr. Agarkov was sentenced 10 days in solitary confinement, and he was ordered to pay a small fine. After his time in confinement, he was then banned from entering the country for five years. Immagration officials told the administrative court that Agarkov was not accredited by the Russian foreign ministry. He went to Voronezh to cover the case of Nadezhda Savchenko, a Ukrainian pilot who was being held for allegedly complying in the deaths of two journalists. These two journalists were Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin who were killed by mortar fire in Eastern Ukraine.

In Ukraine, they assignat those who conjure up false information or misleading information. There was one case when there was an institute of Mass Information, which is an organization partnered with reporters without borders. They released figures for media freedom violations during the first half in 2014. According to its tally, six journalists were killed in connection with their work, 249 were injured or attacked, and at least 55 were taken hostage or detained. IMI's director, Oksana Romanyuk said that Physical attacks against journalists and other media workers currently pose one of the main challenges for the media profession. That would be ending impunity and defending the public's right to information, which should be of the main items on the new president's agenda.

These restrictions on journalists can and will continue in this era of internet reportage. The time is even greater with the access that we have today. Social media has a powerful demeanor for freedom of speech and expression especially for the voiceless people. Unfortunately, it has been increasingly used for unlawful activities from all sections of society. This includes individuals, corporations, and political leaders, which have laid foundation ideas of censoring social media. A lot of situations get banned, reported and therefore taken down off of social media due to blockage. If the people with authority feels that a certain post, such as justice, is impacting the media they will take it down. It is because it is bad for business, and they never want to start a riot with the communities. These riots include protests, rights movements, polls, public speeches and sensitive posts on social media platforms.

Freedom of speech is a very misunderstood in the amendment. In the eyes of the law, you have the freedom to say, post, and protest anything you want but everything is to a certain instant. Individuals recording cops when being violently handled or talked to tend to get in trouble because it is causing concerns and conflict towards the people who supposed to protect us. The common good does not want the press looking at the people as if they are the victims, but they always are. Social has increased the seeing on policeman killing or injuring black people with no reason. In the cop's eyes it is because a person is black so they must be guilty of something. Journalists and mass media has spread that cunningness to the whole world. Freedom of speech will never be suppressed, as a whole, in anyway with the new generation. Now the people can see what is real and what is hidden just by a journalist report, or a social media post.
